The Chief Imam of Bida Road Juma’at Mosque, Kaduna, Malam Muhammad Nafi’u, on Friday urged Muslims to see leadership as a trust vested on them by Allah of which they must give account.

He said those vested with responsibilities must learn to be just, fair and equitable as they would account for their deeds before God.
According to him, leaders are expected to have respect for their followers, while the followers should also respect their leaders.
The Imam advised political, religious and community leaders to strive to leave a legacy of good deeds worthy of emulation.
He said: “As a leader, always treat people equally and justly irrespective of religion or tribe, because you have an obligation to them; to see that their welfare is well protected.’’
The cleric stressed that good leadership always leads to progress, peace and development of societies.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nafi’u also reminded parents that it was part of their obligations to monitor their wards closely and guide them towards doing good at all times.
The Imam used the forum to canvass for prayers from Muslims nationwide, for peace, stability, tranquillity and growth in the state and the country at large. (NAN)
