Jang was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Plateau State Ministry of Youth Development, Mrs Grace Manno.

“Your posting to Plateau is not by mistake but divine. Therefore, you should feel free and serve your father land without any fear, especially now that permanent peace has returned to the state.

“You should be rest assured that your safety will be accorded priority attention wherever you may find yourselves within the State.

“You are enjoined to go about your lawful duties without let or hindrance, “ he said.

Jang urged them to accord due respect to the customs, traditions and culture of their host communities.

He also advised them to see themselves as ambassadors of NYSC, their families and the entire Nigerian youths.

“Wherever you find yourselves, demonstrate the virtues of respect for constituted authorities, devotion to duty and honesty, “ he said.

Jang said that his administration was committed to supporting the NYSC scheme as “demonstrated by our construction of a permanent orientation camp in the state”.

“We have no doubt that the facilities afforded you a more conducive environment for an induction exercise, “ he said.

Earlier, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Steven Ehoda-adi, said that 2,059 corps members took part in the orientation programme.

Ehoda-adi expressed gratitude to the government for its magnanimity by constructing the camp for the NYSC and described it “as very commendable and encouraging“.

He expressed the hope that the corps members would prove themselves to be true ambassadors of the scheme while serving in the state. (NAN)
