The Executive Director of the company, Mrs Uzoma Ezeoke, told newsmen in Nnewi on Tuesday that centre was part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities.

Ezeoke said the gesture was to assist the hospital to train surgeons with practical skills since there were facilities on ground to enhance training.

She said the company had always partnered with health institutions for a better healthcare delivery system.

Ezeoke called for the maximum use of the facilities by the host communities.

Prof. Anthony Igwegbe, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, said the gesture was “a landmark for the hospital’’.

Igwegbe said students of the institution travelled to Ibadan and Enugu for the acquisition of surgical skills.

He said the situation would change now with the centre.

In his comment, Prof. Amobi Ilika, a former Commissioner for Health in Anambra, said the Emzor partnership would help the trainee surgeons to train without going outside the state. (NAN)
