The Director of Environment, Ministry for Environment, Alhaji Ahmed Salihu, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna.

Salihu said the recycling plant, located along Kaduna-Abuja Highway, had reached  80 per cent completion as the needed machinery had been installed.

He assured that the plant would soon be inaugurated.

“Used plastic and nylons will be used as raw materials for the plant. This will complement government effort in ensuring free flow of water during rainy season.

“This initiative will also generate revenue for the state government as recycled products will be sold to residents at a cheaper price.”

Salihu said the plant would also create employment for over 2,000 youths in the state.

He assured that electrical works and the drilling of a bore hole would completed before the inauguration of the project. (NAN)
