Dim told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Wednesday that the new power sub- stations in Awka and Onitsha would serve the state optimally if protected.

“The substations will decongest the distribution load on the Nibo station and supply electricity effectively to Awka, Onitsha and environs,” he said.

Dim urged the people to take ownership of the stations and ensure their safety, adding that the state government spent more than 60 million dollars on the projects.

The business manager also appealed to the residents to support the EEDC by reporting any suspicious movement around the station to the police.

He commended President Goodluck Jonathan for keeping his promises of improving the power sector in the country.

Dim disclosed that another sub-station going on in Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka local government was expected to be commissioned in December. (NAN)
