A reliable source further revealed that Mr Jimoh  had initially wanted to rest the paper, closed it down and send the staff home. However, when the plan blew open to some senior staff and he was confronted with the fact, he denied it saying, “even my madness has not reach up to this level”.

Sources  revealed that Ibrahim is still hell bent on resting the paper but has developed a plan B that would make it look that he is reorganising the place.

“His plan now is to turn the paper into a weekly insertion of about eight pages in the weekend editions of the Newswatch newspaper. By this, he would have diverted attention of those who are saying he is resting the paper,” sources say

This medium further learnt that the very rich businessman, who has the penchant for buying off business enterprises but not being able to turn them around, has fixed December for the changes in the National Mirror newspaper.

Apparently, the plan may have leaked to some staff of the newspaper particularly the senior staff and some of them have been seeking greener pasture elsewhere so that they would not be caught unaware.

The proposed Daily Telegraph, allegedly being financed by ex-Governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, seemed to be the main beneficiary of the expected exodus from the National Mirror.
