The legislator told newsmen in an interview on Thursday in Damaturu that “the All Progressives Congress (APC) was created out of national interest and the drive to salvage the country from PDP’s maladministration.

“Similarly, some people within the ruling party were in conflict with the poor democratic principles of the ruling party

and are now fighting such undemocratic practices to salvage Nigeria’s democracy.

“What is happening in the political arena is a positive development because, people from different orientations are coming together into one unit based on national interest.

“Politicians from across the country are driven by national interest to see issues through the prisms of their experiences, knowledge and backgrounds so as to renew and salvage democracy in Nigeria,” he said.

Sen. Lawan said APC has on its priority list, security, stable economy, education, power supply, and employment opportunities among others.

“We want to assure Nigerians of ending kidnapping and insurgency, offer education that is free of strikes, sustainable economy, stable power supply and building the confidence of Nigerians in governance among others,”he added. (NAN)
