Akure – The Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Jide Adejuyigbe, says the present administration is committed to putting in place adequate infrastructure in public schools.
Adejuyigbe made this known on Tuesday in Akure at a workshop tagged: “Training of Education Managers.”
“I wish to reiterate this administration’s commitment to building good infrastructure in schools.
“We are also committed to building formidable young ones who will later take the mantle of leadership in the Sunshine State in years to come,” he said.
The commissioner also assured teachers that various capacity building programmes would be organised periodically.
Ade Adeniyi, the Chairman, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, urged all stakeholders in the education sector to engage in robust partnership with government.
“Primary education is crucial to the nation’s development and I am happy that this administration is now enacting what primary schools should be. We want to make sure that our pupils can compete favourably with others.”
Prof. Femi Mimiko, the Vice Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, said that the old generation should build the younger ones on the right path.
“This workshop is so crucial, fundamental and pivotal to education managers.
“Our responsibility is to design the scope of the younger ones who look up to us as a fountain meant to drink from,” Mimiko said.
A participant, Solomon Igbelowowa, called on teachers to imbibe a positive attitude to their profession.
“Truly, teachers need to change their attitudinal tenets.
The workshop was jointly organised by the Universal Basic Education Commission and SUBEB in Ondo State.
