The fair commenced on Tuesday with only one firm on the fair ground.

A NAN correspondent, who visited the complex on Wednesday, reports that the venue was still being prepared as clearing of the premises were still ongoing.

Some firms were still busy erecting their pavilions, while the number of visitor was low.

Mr Nureni Ogunbayo, Chairman, Planning Committee of the fair, attributed the low turnout of participants to the recently concluded Lagos International Trade Fair.

Ogunbayo, who confirmed that over 50 firms registered for the fair, said many of them were still making arrangement to move their pavilions to the venue.

‘’You know many of these firms were at the Lagos trade fair which ended on Sunday and they need to move their goods and also prepare their pavilions,’’ he said.

The chairman, however, expressed optimism that activities would pick up as from Friday after the flag-off of the Fair by Gov. Ibikunle Amosun.

Some representatives of the firms, who spoke with NAN, lamented the low patronage, but expressed optimism that the turnout would improve with time.

They also urged the committee to intensify efforts at creating awareness about the fair. (NAN)
