They  will include the Deputy Governor (Financial Sector Surveillance) of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Tunde Lemo, and former Minister of Finance, Dr Onaolapo Soleye.

The President of Egba Economic Summit Group (EESG), Mr Ayo Biobaku, disclosed this in a press statement on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

The seminar is being organised by the group with the theme: “Exploring the benefits of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Egbaland”.

Biobaku said  that the seminar became imperative against the backdrop of the nation’s economic realities.

NAN reports that the programme will be held at the main auditorium of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta with resource contributions from Skye Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank and Wema Bank, among others.

Biobaku said that encouragement of micro, small and medium-scale enterprises would help to address certain fundamental deficiencies in the economy.

“The seminar takes on important economic issues because more than ever before, the economic realities in our nation today have engendered unemployment and reduced the spending power of the people.

“Hence, encouraging our people to embrace MSMEs as a way out of the misery will not only be beneficial to the people of Egbaland, but also to Ogun State and the nation as a whole,” the statement quoted Biobaku as saying.

According to Biobaku, the keynote lecture will be delivered by Lemo, while Soleye will be the chairman of the occasion.

The state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Bimbo Ashiru, is expected to be the guest of honour with the Managing Director of Qualitech Industry, Chief Yinka Kufile, as another eminent guest.

“We assure all participants of a memorable time as this noble initiative will go a long way in enhancing the quality of the lives of our people,” he said. (NAN)
