Several training sessions have been held across many states in Northern Nigeria including Kano, Kaduna, Niger and Kwara states. The next training sessions sponsored by AMMASCO will be coming up in Abia, Rivers and Edo States.

Wrong and poor usage of lubricants is believed to cost motor vehicle users in the country well over N500 million every year. AMMASCO, which is the leading engine lubricant oil manufacturer in the North of the country, has been championing high standards in the lubricants industry in Nigeria for many years.

Early this year, the company was awarded the ISO 9001-2008 standard certification by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), which is the highest and most current standard for quality management systems given to companies in the country. The company also holds the NIS –ISO 9001-2006 quality certification for the previous year.

According to the award letter signed by the Director general of the SON, Dr Joseph Odumodu, and addressed to the Managing director of AMMASCO: “I have the pleasure of informing you that the quality management system of AMMASCO International Limited covering the blending of lubricants and petrochemicals and allied products is hereby adjudged by the SON to conform to the requirements of NIS ISO 9001-2008 standard and its consequently certified.”

A certificate of conformity has been issued by SON to AMMASCO to back up its NIS ISO 9001-2008 certification. In his reaction, Chairman of AMMASCO International, Alhaji Muhammed Ado, said the certification by SON, which is the latest achievement of the company shows that the hard work and dedication to high quality by AMMASCO is well recognised and appreciated in the country.”

According to some of the trainees, the AMMASCO lubrication training has exposed them to new practical knowledge about how to use the various lubricating oils available in the market and to better understand the various grades of lubricating oils and their applications. The trainees thanked the company for its efforts in contributing to the growth and well being of the Nigerian automobile industry.

The company’s quest to build human capacity development in the maintenance of automobile is highly commendable and worthy of emulation by other industrialists in Nigeria. The Kano-based AMMASCO manufactures and markets engine lubricating oil brands such as Amalube SAE40. It is also a major marketer of petroleum products and supplier of Co2 industrial gases.
