Mr Daivid Zhao, a representative of the BrightWay International Exhibition Corporation Ltd., disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria at the ongoing 2013 Lagos International Trade Fair on Friday.

“The trade volume between the two countries grew steadily to 10.57 billion dollars in 2012 and reached 16.02 billion dollars in the first half of 2013,” he said.

Zhao also said that the corporation had brought 425 Chinese exhibitors and 1,000 participants to the Lagos International Trade Fair in the last five years from 2007.

Chinese pavilions, Zhao said, had recorded more than 200,000 visitors at the exhibition from 2007 to 2012.

He said that the companies’ participation at the fair had boosted bilateral, economic cooperation and trade between both countries.

Zhao said that the corporation expected increased participation of Chinese companies at the 2013 Lagos Trade Fair.

“Since 2008, Chinese pavilion has been the biggest international hall mostly visited.

“The exposure of our companies and their products to Nigerian investors has contributed to the growth of the trade volume between China and Nigeria,” he said.

NAN reports that Chinese pavilion was opened to the public on Nov. 5 and will close on Nov. 9.

According to Zhao, all the exhibitors and participants are expected to return to China on Nov. 10.

101 Chinese companies and 200 delegates are participating at the Fair which ends on Sunday. (NAN)
