The victory means Nigeria maintain their record of never having lost a semi-final at the Under-17 World Cup and they will play in their seventh final at the tournament.

In a statement issued in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, the Nigerian leader congratulated the Golden Eaglets on their qualification for the final of the ongoing FIFA Under-17 World Soccer Championship in the United Arab Emirates.

He urged the team to be focused, train well and deploy their full arsenal of strength, determination and artistry once again to ensure that they overcome the Mexicans once again and return home with the Under-17 World Cup.

President Jonathan said he looked forward to receiving the Eaglets at the Presidential Villa when they triumphantly return to Nigeria.

On his part, Senate President, David Mark, assured the Golden Eaglets that the nation was solidly behind them in prayers and that the government would do the needful in terms of their welfare and upkeep.
