The Callertunez service of Information and Communications Technology company, MTN Nigeria, has recorded over 17 million subscribers, a statement from the company indicated.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Unveiled in 2008, MTN Callertunez had been found to be one of the unique solutions to the distribution problem in the Nigerian music industry as it is impossible for the service to be pirated or duplicated, it said.
Nigerian artistes are thus provided with a means for monetising their content, the firm said, adding that the service currently offered Nigerians a library of over 12,000 Callertunez from various artistes.
MTN, therefore, said one of its key strategic focus is to connect Nigerians with their passion for music, which is demonstrated via innovative marketing initiatives; some of which are Project Fame and MTN Songstar.
MTN also said it remained committed to the consumption of Nigerian content, which is evident in its frequent marketing campaigns for exclusive Nigerian music content and the MTN App Developer challenge, which is aimed at driving the local developer ecosystem.
To commemorate Nigeria’s 53rd Independence anniversary, the firm said it is rewarding over 2000 loyal subscribers on the service with high-end smartphones and other exciting prizes for 53 days. Subscribers will be selected in all regions across the nation and prize presentations will be made accordingly.
Speaking on the development, the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Larry Annetts, explained that MTN was always at the fore-front of creating milestones in entertainment and digital innovation.
“Through this service and more in the pipeline, we hope to continue to support the Nigerian entertainment industry,” he added.
