Mobile game development platform Gamesalad is now free to use for developers making games for Amazon’s Kindle fire tablets.

The suite of dev tools has been optimised for the latest Fire OS 3.0, called ‘Mojito’. The latest update includes new features such as drag and drop integration with Amazon’s own in-app purchase and GameCircle APIs.

Developers who submit their games to the store by November 30th will also be given a free one-month licence for Gamesalad Pro, which allows devs to deploy and monetise their apps on additional mobile marketplaces, for each title submitted.

Gamesalad has also promised Kindle Fire developers priority tech support, with a 24-hour response time with for any issues that arise.

“GameSalad is excited to work with Amazon to make it easier for developers to create games for Fire OS and get them discovered in the Amazon App Store,” said Steve Felter, GameSalad CEO.

“Kindle Fire tablets are incredibly popular and as its user base continues to soar, demand for high quality indie games continues to increase. Developers can now tap into that marketplace more quickly, easily and now for free using the GameSalad platform, offering consumers a wide variety of top indie games.”

Gamesalad is designed to allow developers to create, publish and distribute games for iOS, Android and HTML5 platforms.

The tool suite has been used in more than 200,000 games and boasts a community of over 700,000 developers.
