The Belgian international joined the Toffees on transfer deadline day on a season-long loan from Chelsea and has already proved a huge hit on Merseyside, scoring three goals in his opening two league matches.

And rumours have surfaced in the last few days that Italian giants Juventus are keen on making a permanent move for the 20-year-old.

‘That’s the first time I’ve heard that (Juventus link),’ said Martinez.

‘It doesn’t surprise me. What matters is that he is enjoying his football.

‘I thought his away debut (45 minutes and a goal against West Ham) was impressive, I think the home debut (90 minutes and two goals against Newcastle) was exciting to watch.

‘It is only the start and he is still only a young man and we are looking forward to seeing him go from strength to strength.’

Lukaku scored the winning goal on his Everton debut against West Ham, before netting twice in his side’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle on Monday.

The youngster also scored 17 goals while on loan at West Brom last season, which saw him nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
