
Emeka Onwuka, chairman, Enterprise Bank, has resigned his appointment as the chairman of the bank.

According to an online newswire, the development followed a letter of resignation addressed to Mustafa Chike-Obi, managing director, AMCON, where he was said to have referred to his earlier declaration of interest with a group of investors who intends to acquire AMCON’s shares in the three intervened banks including Enterprise Bank Ltd.
“In order to avoid any potential conflict of interest in the transaction and to protect the credibility of the process, I am resigning my position as director and chairman of the board effective October 1, 2013,” the statement said.
