According to Mr Pinay, “Surface Pro and now Surface Pro 2 … is literally faster than 95 per cent of all laptops in market today.”

The Surface Pro 2 is targeted at professionals who want the full power of a laptop in a tablet-style device.

Whilst the cheaper Surface 2 model, offers a better screen and other improvements over last year’s Surface RT.

The company is trying to boost its tablet business as sales of traditional desktop and laptop computers decline.

CENT Editor, Scott Stein said, “Microsoft is trying to first of all craft an identity for tablet PCs in the Windows space and then I also think that Microsoft is trying to show how professionals are using this type of product as opposed to something like an iPad or other consumer tablets.”
