Several gunshots which caused pandemonium inside the market rented the air as people scampered for safety and the market was deserted around 2pm yesterday.
Spokesman of the Borno State Joint Task Force (JTF), Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed, in a release to newsmen, said the task force arrested a gunman with the assistance of the traders. They alleged that the suspect was in  the market to kill innocent people.
“They (traders) have displayed that security is a collective responsibility and that the sect members are not invisible as they now choose to operate in markets and highly concentrated areas.’’ Mohammed said.
