Two suspected Boko Haram members were yesterday arrested by the Nigeria Army at the Defence Industrial Companies of Nigeria (DIC), Kakuri, Kaduna.
It was gathered that the two men drove into the area in a Mercedes car 230 and were arrested by the army after they abandoned their car and ran away.
“When we resisted their plans by trying to shot the car, they accelerate the car and ran into the fence of the DIC,” an army officer said.
The situation was said to have caused panic in the area as residents ran for safety.
“We have already been warned by the military not to go close to the DIC but this people came in a suspicious manner, on seen the military men, they diverted the road and ran into the fence of the DIC, broke the fence, abandoned the car and took to their heels.
“The army pursued them to a house and arrested them,” residents Alex Kwasu said.
Army Spokesman Lieutenant Col. Abubakar Edun , when contacted, said, “The issue has not been brought to our office.”
