65,899 UBA’s customers receive Western Union in 4 months

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has said that 65,899 of its customers received dollar-denominated currency through the Western Union Money Transfer between October 16, 2011 and January 31 this year.

The bank’s Head, Brand Management, Toruka Osadunkwu disclosed this in Lagos at the final draw of UBA and Western Union End of Year promo tagged, “Bumper Cash Harvest.”
He explained that the promo was designed to reward the customers for their continued patronage.
In the draw, Mrs. Juliana Onuoha, a Lagos-based businesswoman won the $10,000 star prize. She won the prize after receiving $1,200 from the United States of America during the promo.
“I can’t belief this is true, I am so glad,” she said.
The promo which commenced on October 16, 2011 and ended on January 31, 2012, rewarded loyal customers of the international money transfer services through the channels provided by United Bank for Africa Plc, a key Western Union Agent in Nigeria and 10 other African countries.
Other winners that emerged at the draw included,Chidi Alisobi and Julius Ajaga who won $5,000 dollars respectively. In addition, Innocent Anele, Grace Adebayo, Kehinde Ayoade Ndidi Dialo and Chuks Adaeze emerged winners in the $1,000 categories while, Jude Ogota, Victoria Ojo, Folake Okorodudu and Francisca Ojiegbu and other lucky winners emerged in the $500.00 category.
Mr. Luqman Balogun, Divisional Head e-Banking and Retail Liabilities, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, who also spoke at the draw, said that the promo was initiated with a view to reward loyal customers of Western Union Money Transfer Services, who receive proceeds from any of UBA’s over 700 branches nationwide.
“Today, UBA is one of the leading Western Union Agents on the continent. This collaboration fits our commitment to connect Africans and African businesses globally, with each other,” he said.
