A call from the Center for Peace Education and Community Development (CEPEACEODE) has gone to members of the National Assembly on the need to pass a Bill nationalising all South Africa business and companies in Nigeria.

This, according to the group, would serve as deterrence for any further actions of “inhuman treatments to Nigerians.”

In a press statement made available to Naija 247 News in Jalingo, Taraba state condemning the xenophobic attack in South Africa against Nigerians , the leadership of the group charged Nigerians to ceased from launching attacks on South Africans business and companies in Nigeria but to press on the National Assembly to pass a Bill nationalising such companies.

Signed by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Joseph Gimba, the statement reads “in view of the many undiplomatic treatments South Africa and it government have done to Nigeria and Nigerians in the past, Nigerians should not do same by destroying South Africa businesses in Nigeria. ”

Indulging in such ill actions, Gimba believed would “render Nigerians jobless and increase poverty rate and unemployment “suggesting that “rather the National Assembly should reconvene and pass a Bill nationalising over a hundred South Africa business and companies to serve as a deterrence for any further actions of inhumane treatments to Nigerians. ”

Admonishing security operatives from both countries to collaborate and bring to book any of the National caught trampling with the law, the need for the leadership of both nations to “be up to their responsibilities so that African unity and solidarity can be enhance and maintain for the overall benefits of it citizens” the group said, have become necessary.

According to the statement “any National that break the law should be deal with within the limit of the law”stating that “killing, intimidating and burning of properties is not lawful but against the international humanitarian law and people’s rights. ”

The group who also thumb up the Nigerian police for the proactive stance they put in place to forestall attacks on South Africa nationals in Nigeria, urged them to replicate same in halting further killings and destruction of properties among the Tiv and Jukun ethnic groups in Taraba.

Rather than arming the youths for “war” politicians and the government , as made known by Gimba and his team should “engage the youths constructively by providing jobs and other means of livelihoods for them. “
