PORT HARCOURT – AFTER hours of restraint following the controversial All Progressives Congress, APC, Ward Congresses in Rivers State, the party’s team from Abuja declared last night that it had collated results for all 319 Ward across 23 local government areas in Rivers.

The office in tatters after the invasion The team identified as Ward and Local Government Congresses Committee from Abuja headquarters of the party, headed by Joseph Dogo, stressed that the congresses took place on Saturday in Rivers, in conflict with the position of 2019 Rivers APC governorship aspirant, Sen Magnus Abe who maintains that no congress held anywhere in the state.

Dogo’s team address newsmen in company of Rivers APC, Chairman, Chief Davies Ikanya, and other members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party, at the State APC secretariat that was invaded and looted by irate youths on the Congresses’ eve.

Dogo said, “So far, we have received results from the 23 LGAs in Rivers with total wards of 319. With these results now completed, the task now is on the committee members to go through the processing of the results, so that we can hand over report to the appeal committee, which will start sitting by tomorrow (today) to look into any appeal coming out of the exercise that was conducted.

“There was election. I do not know whether there is a contradiction between an allegation and a fact. If there is an allegation and there is a fact, I do not know how contradictory it is.

From the report documented, including the one from the Distinguished Senator’s (Abe’s) ward (in Bera-Ogoni in Gokana LGA), we will make available to the press, documented evidence that even in his ward, there was election.

“So, the issue of a contradiction does not even arise, because you cannot be talking about contradiction, when there is an allegation and a fact. He (Abe) has to prove that there was no election in Rivers State on Saturday.

He who alleges must prove. Abe and Peter Odike, Deputy Chairman of Rivers APC and their teeming supporters maintain that no congress held in Rivers based on alleged irregularities while also highlighting an alleged court injunction against the exercise sought in a court action filed by Felix Mboi, an alleged Abe ally.

Both Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi and Dr. Dakuku Peterside and other chieftains of the Rivers APC have denied knowledge of any injunction, maintaining that they never received any
