Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed that all the players invited for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier will undergo medicals two days to the game against the Indomitable lions of Cameroon,to ascertain their level of fitness.
Rohr told Sportinglife that the medical report for each player will determine those he will pick to start the game because the Cameroonians are known for their stamina on the field.
He said: “I don’t want to take chances and my target for the double- header qualification is to get 4 points which will see us in Russia for the global soccer fiesta.
“I know it will be difficult to beat them in Cameroon if they pick a pick here in Nigeria and beating them here will dampen their spirit to fight back in Cameroon”. Rohr revealed.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles tactician also expressed confidence in his team stating that the players understand the importance of playing at the world as many of them will not have the opportunity again to play at the 2022 edition, if Nigeria fail to qualify.
He urged Nigerians to pray for the team and come out in their thousands to cheer the boys to victory.
