Telecoms sector FDI hits $68b, says NCC

The telecoms sector has attracted $68billion to the economy in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said in Lagos.

Besides, the sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has increased to 9.8 per cent and it has allowed other sectors to floursih.

NCC Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Prof Umar Dambatta who spoke during a seinsitisation workshop on code of corporate governance for the telecosm industry at the Derenassance Hotel, Ikeja, said these acheivements were accomplished in spite of the crushing recession ravaging the economy.
