Katsina state governor Aminu Masari and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) have disagreed over the location of two newly proposed Area Commands to be created in the state.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The Police have suggested Malumfashi and Dustinma as locations for the two new area commands to be headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Speaking when he received the Deputy Inspector General of Police Maigari Dikko on a one-day working visit to the state, Masari opined that the proposed locations may have to be reconsidered given the need of other part of the state.
He wondered why the Daura zone with about 12 Local governments was not considered adding that it would be much appreciated if a command is created in Kankia or Ingawa given the large area of the zone.
While assuring the state readiness to assist in taking up the commands, Masari said “I may not know the rationale behind the proposed locations unless a re-organisation of the state command is been looked at generally.”
Earlier, the DIG Dikko had told the governor that the police is establishing the new area commands to bring policing closer to people. He solicits the state support towards making available facilities for their smooth take off.
