Governor Yahaya Bello is using “charms”, to run Kogi state, PDP alleges

Kogi state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Governor Yahaya Bello’s approach to governance had put the state on the path of retrogression.

The Spokesman of the PDP, Bode Ogunmola in Lokoja, informed newsmen that Bello’s 30 days in office has been nothing but “knee jerk approach to governance and poor policy formulations.”

He condemned “arbitrary blockage” of a section of the Government House road in Lokoja, and converting it to a single lane, subjecting many road users to hardships.

On demolition of some roundabouts in Lokoja, the state capital, he accused the governor of acting on advice of some ‘marabouts’, warning that, “Bello should focus on providing purposeful leadership and leave voodooism to occult practitioners.”

“No state can move forward if its leaders are held back by ancient, unscientific and diabolical practices,” Ogunmola said.

PDP further criticised Bello for reversing all appointments and promotions carried out by ex-Governor Idris Wada from January 2015, and the directive that some top civil servants proceed on compulsory leave.
