Nigeria Police Avert Attack at Polling Station in Bauchi State

Sulieman-AbbaRivers-PoliceNigeria’s police said they averted an attack by unknown gunmen on a polling station at a primary school in the Darazo area of northern Bauchi state as people voted in Saturday elections.

The assailants attacked the polling station in six vehicles and two motorcycles forcing people to flee for safety, before security forces intervened and chased them away, Bauchi police spokesman Haruna Mohammed, said in an e-mailed statement.
