This was contained in a release signed by Jubrin Zakari, Customs Area Comptroller, Tin-Can Island Port and made available to the News Agency (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.

The command said that the revenue was after the exemption of N53 million, the cost of cargoes cleared under waiver.

It said that the command realised N316 million from Negotiable Duty Credit Certificate (NDCC) or paper cash.

The breakdown showed that the bulk of the revenue was from import duties paid on vehicles and levies paid on common external tariff, sugar, rice, wheat flour, wheat grain, iron, cigarette and cement.

Mr Chris Osunkwo, Public Relations Officer of the command, had earlier said that the digitalisation and automation of the NCS activities at the port impacted positively on their revenue profile.
