G7 Governors, New PDP Finally Decamps To APC

 The seven aggrieved Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have dumped the party and joined the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Also, the splinter faction of the ruling PDP known as the New PDP, has merged with the APC.

Making the development public on Tuesday in Abuja after a meeting of both groups at the residence of the Kano State Governor, Mr. Rabiu Kwakwanso, the National Chairman of the New PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje and the National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande released a statement saying, “A meeting of the leadership of APC and the New PDP met this morning at the residence of the Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Abuja.

“After exhaustive deliberations, the two parties agreed to merge in order to rescue our fledgling democracy.”

UPDATE:

Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and Governor of Jigawa State, Dr. Sule Lamido are however not part of the PDP governors who have joined the All Progressive Congress (APC).
